Reflecting on Women’s History Month: A Conversation

The month of March is special to me for a lot of reasons, making me think about health and health coverage on both an individual and collective basis. This March, I celebrated several things, including my second book anniversary, being five years cancer-free, and the 12th anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act (I wrote a piece on the significance of the ACA’s anniversary in a pandemic which was published in The Health Care Blog.)

I also commemorated Women’s History Month! Marching Toward Coverage was featured in a list of recommended reading for Women’s History Month in Beacon Broadside, a project of my publisher, Beacon Press. To keep the momentum going, I sat down with Dr. Emily George of Day Health Strategies to discuss this year’s Women’s History Month theme, “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope”. You can listen to my thoughts below, and let’s celebrate together as we galvanize women and allies to take action in the fight for universal health coverage.
