I'm serving on the leadership team of Healthcare Leaders for Democracy and we've been busy planning this event with Dr. Atul Gawande. It's for a great cause, to support Movement Voter Project's community-based organizing in swing states. I hope you will join me on October 22nd. Let's help strengthen our democracy! 💪🇺🇸 Two of my favorite things to do are visit bookstores and enjoy "high tea!" 📚🫖 This wonderful birthday present from my dear friend Sheridan combined both. Can't imagine a more charming setting than @beaconhillbooksandcafe! The midterm election is just one month away! And state elections are key. Join us for a “Virtual Rally” with Massachusetts Lt Governor Kim Driscoll on Thursday October 1st from 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST to provide women across the Commonwealth with campaign updates and hear about all the ways you can help. 💪💪 As the mid-term elections approach, my feelings keep fluctuating between hope and fear. I see many glimmers of hope, and yet, I must manage the fears that are stoked by the news headlines and the endless stream of social media. I was lucky enough to meet Gloria Steinem twice. One of my most treasured possessions is this photo taken of my mom and me with her 20 years ago, when she spoke at Harvard’s Kennedy School. My other encounter was at a book signing in Boston 30 years ago -- Gloria had just turned 60 -- and she penned an inscription for my mom: “Don’t give up! We get more radical with age.” So true! Sometimes returning to a place can make all of the difference.
