Sometimes returning to a place can make all of the difference. Bonjour (encore) from Paris! Sometimes you need a dose of inspiration. I was moved when I saw that Bruce Springsteen had written a song to honor the lives of Michelle Good and Alex Pretti and to commemorate all the Minnesotans who stood up to ICE last winter. When I saw that he was launching a tour to amplify a message of national unity and appeal to our better angels, I said, “I’m in!” In honor of Mother’s Day, I'm sharing a more personal post plus a link to the full blog (see bio). As I've started working on my next book, I’ve been thinking about the women who shape our lives in ways that go far beyond biology and blood relations. I’m proud to co-host this event featuring Mandy Cohen, Gov Roy Cooper, & Don Berwick, organized by Healthcare Leaders for Democracy. Boston was amazing - over 180,000 people showed up! Incredible signs and costumes and energy. Our top elected officials were there and on fire: Maura Healey, Andrea Campbell, Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey, and Ayanna Pressley. And then the Drop Kick Murphys closed it out. The whole day was invigorating! And looks like it was that way around the country - over 8 million people. Sets a new record. Gives me hope! 💪🇺🇸🗽🚫👑
