With the election only six days away, it’s natural to feel anxious. The stakes couldn’t be higher. My message to you: “Don’t agonize. Organize!” It is true. You will feel better if you act.
It’s hard to look at the polls every day – the presidential race is far too close for comfort. But every poll has a “margin of error.” And within that margin is the key that can make the difference: it’s called “the margin of effort.” I recently attended a rally with Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz, and he asked us to make that effort. It’s going to take more than donations. He asked us to keep putting energy into this election. That energy IS the “margin of effort.” It will make the difference in the election outcome.
To that end, I’ve called upon CEOs to take a stand: to put country over party and to vote for Kamala Harris. You can take a stand as well, through speaking with your friends, posting on social media, and encouraging young people to vote.
Beyond that, you can make calls to swing states. It’s very easy. With one click, you can sign up for a 2-hour stint, and they train you in the first portion of the time block. It’s flexible, and they make it fun! Here are a few options, starting with the presidential campaign team, and moving toward a non-partisan group that gets new voters to engage:
- Volunteer | Kamala Harris for President
- What You Can Do — All In for Harris
- ☎️ Get Out the Vote with Vot-ER Phonebanking! 🗳️ · Vot-ER (mobilize.us)
So, post on social media, make some calls, and if you can, get out to canvass in a swing state! Bring a friend to make calls or canvass – it’s more fun that way. You may have to get out of your comfort zone. It will be worth it! You will not only feel better, but you will also make the difference in this election.
